Azores Properties has evolved over the past few years, as B&B guests of Azores High began asking our advice and assistance in locating property on Faial. Although, at first, we were not acting as estate agents, we have helped a number of people achieve their dreams of owning real estate on Faial.
We now actively seek out property for sale on Faial and Pico to ensure that our clients have the best choice possible. If our listings do not show what you are looking for, then we will endeavor to locate it for you.
As the only English speaking agents on Faial, our services are greatly appreciated by our overseas clients. Although English is a little more widely spoken than when we first came to the island the paperwork is, obviously, still all in Portuguese and can be a little confusing. Since our original investment of a ruin and land, in 2000, we have assisted with many sales and purchases and have a thorough knowledge of what is required.
Dealing with the local owners and authorities has become easier since our Portuguese partner, José Mendonça, joined the team. We can now offer a complete package, from the first handshake to the final bill of sale – the “Escritura”, ensuring at all stages that the purchase is legal and correct.
We also offer assistance to those wishing to build, modernize or renovate their properties. Our team of builders, carpenters, electrician, plumber, glaziers and painters is managed by Alan, enabling work to be coordinated efficiently in your absence. Local builder's merchants now supply a wide variety of materials and should your choice not be available it can be ordered from the mainland.
A further facility we are just now developing is a property management service. If you would like to rent out your property whilst you are not in residence we can offer a complete service, from arranging bookings, to ensuring the property is maintained, clean and ready for the visitors.
