Alan and Lesley In 2000 we purchased a ruined farmhouse in upper Pedro Miguel, on Faial Island. By June 2002 we had opened our bed and breakfast business, from which we met many visitors as enthralled by the island as we had been. Many expressed a wish to find the house of their dreams and move here.

In late 2008 Azores Properties was founded and a partnership formed with a local businessman. This is the foundation of our success – we know how to help the overseas buyers and José provides the link with the Portuguese owners and proves invaluable in dealing with the authorities.

José Mendonça

José is Azorean Portuguese and has lived on Faial all his life. He worked, for many years, in the famous Peter Café Sport, here in Horta, before opening his own restaurant, the O Marineiro. As a family man looking for something a little less demanding he agreed to join Alan in forming Azores Properties. He now acts as the conduit for local negotiations, as well as actively seeking out new properties to list.

 

We are committed to providing a fair deal for all, buyers and sellers alike, trying to prevent an artificial inflation of prices to the detriment of the local market.
